The Confuron and Cotetidot families have deep roots in Burgundy, with viticultural histories stretching back to the seventeenth century. The domaine was established in 1964 through their union and is now based in Vosne Romanée, where the family farms around 11 hectares across the Côte de Nuits. Led by Yves Confuron, the estate follows a traditional approach, favouring organic vineyard practices, low yields and whole bunch fermentation. The wines are characteristically concentrated and structured, reflecting a preference for ripe fruit, firm tannins and extended ageing.
Lavaux Saint Jacques is one of Gevrey Chambertin's most celebrated Premier Cru vineyards, occupying a steep, south facing valley just below the Combe de Lavaux. Its limestone rich soils and sheltered position help produce Pinot Noir with both concentration and freshness. This is an expressive, structured wine, bringing together dark cherry, blackberry and violet with notes of wild herbs, earth and spice. Whole bunch fermentation adds aromatic complexity and a savoury dimension, while firm tannins and vibrant acidity give the wine considerable ageing potential.
