Domaine Thomas Morey is a family owned estate based in Chassagne Montrachet, representing the modern evolution of one of Burgundy’s most respected winegrowing families. Thomas Morey established his domaine in 2007 after working alongside his father at Domaine Bernard Morey, choosing to focus on meticulous parcel selection and precise vineyard farming across Chassagne Montrachet, Saint Aubin and surrounding appellations. The estate is known for its rigorous attention to detail in the vineyard, with sustainable viticulture and careful soil management aimed at preserving balance and site transparency. In the cellar, Thomas Morey employs a restrained approach, using indigenous fermentations, measured oak influence and long élevage to emphasise purity, texture and the structural identity of each climat.

Maranges 1er Cru La Fussière is a Pinot Noir from one of the most significant Premier Cru vineyards in the southern Côte de Beaune, where higher altitude, cooler conditions and clay limestone soils produce wines of structure, freshness and dark fruit intensity. The vineyard is worked with careful attention to yield control and canopy management to ensure full phenolic ripeness in a more marginal climate compared to northern Côte de Beaune sites. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, often including a proportion of whole clusters to enhance aromatic lift and structural definition. Élevage is carried out in French oak barrels with a moderate use of new oak, supporting the wine’s framework while preserving clarity of fruit. The wine shows a darker profile than many Morey bottlings, with black cherry, blackberry and wild plum layered with violet, spice and earthy mineral tones. The palate is concentrated yet balanced, with fine-grained tannins, bright acidity and a long, slightly savoury finish that reflects both altitude and the cooler southern Bourgogne terroir.
