Marcel Lapierre, born in 1950 in Villié-Morgon, was a pioneering figure in the natural wine movement. Taking over his family's domaine in 1973, he transformed it by embracing organic and biodynamic practices, influenced by the teachings of Jules Chauvet. Lapierre rejected chemical additives, opting for native yeast fermentations and minimal intervention, allowing the Gamay grape to express its true character. His approach revitalized the reputation of Beaujolais wines, emphasizing purity, freshness, and terroir. As a member of the "Gang of Four," alongside Jean Foillard, Guy Breton, and Jean-Paul Thévenet, he inspired a generation of winemakers. Today, his legacy continues through his children, Mathieu and Camille, who uphold his commitment to natural winemaking.
Crafted from 70-year-old Gamay vines rooted in granitic soils, this Morgon showcases vibrant aromas of cherry, violet, and liquorice. The palate is fresh and structured, with a juicy profile and sharp acidity that integrates seamlessly with its fruit-forward character. Aged for nine months in used French oak barrels, it embodies the essence of natural Beaujolais, offering a pure and expressive wine that reflects its terroir.
