Marcel Lapierre, born in 1950 in Villié-Morgon, was a pioneering figure in the natural wine movement. Taking over his family's domaine in 1973, he transformed it by embracing organic and biodynamic practices, influenced by the teachings of Jules Chauvet. Lapierre rejected chemical additives, opting for native yeast fermentations and minimal intervention, allowing the Gamay grape to express its true character. His approach revitalized the reputation of Beaujolais wines, emphasizing purity, freshness, and terroir. As a member of the "Gang of Four," alongside Jean Foillard, Guy Breton, and Jean-Paul Thévenet, he inspired a generation of winemakers. Today, his legacy continues through his children, Mathieu and Camille, who uphold his commitment to natural winemaking.

Sourced from a one-hectare plot in La Roche du Py, this cuvée is a tribute to Marcel Lapierre’s father. The 80-100-year-old Gamay vines thrive in shallow granitic soils, producing a wine with immense fruit concentration and complexity. Expect aromas of fresh red fruit and floral notes, leading to a rich and balanced palate with polished tannins. Aged for nine months in old 216-litre barrels, it offers a lingering finish with a touch of salinity.
