Domaine Jean François Ganevat is one of the Jura’s most revered estates, renowned for producing wines of extraordinary purity, energy and individuality. Based in Rotalier, in the southern Jura, Jean François and Anne Ganevat farm an exceptional collection of old vineyards according to organic and biodynamic principles, with a deep respect for biodiversity, soil health and traditional vine material. Often described as one of the region’s great natural wine pioneers, Ganevat combines meticulous vineyard work with a minimalist approach in the cellar, allowing each grape variety and parcel to express its own identity.
Cuvée de L’Enfant Terrible is a striking expression of Chardonnay, showcasing the variety through Ganevat’s unique Jura perspective. Produced from organically farmed vines, the wine reflects the estate’s focus on purity, texture and terroir rather than overt winemaking influence. The grapes are carefully harvested before undergoing spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and ageing in old oak barrels, allowing complexity to develop while maintaining freshness and precision. Aromas of ripe citrus, orchard fruit and white flowers are layered with hazelnut, subtle spice, chalk and Jura’s characteristic saline minerality. The palate is rich yet finely balanced, with creamy texture, vibrant acidity and a long savoury finish that highlights both the depth of Chardonnay and Ganevat’s unmistakable signature.
