Domaine Sant Armettu is one of the leading estates of southern Corsica, situated near Sartène between the rugged granite mountains of the island's interior and the Mediterranean coastline. Established by Gilles Seroin and now run alongside his children Jeanne and Guillaume, the domaine has become a benchmark for terroir driven Corsican wine, working exclusively with indigenous varieties across a mosaic of granitic hillside vineyards. Organic farming, low yields and careful parcel selection underpin the estate's philosophy, while the cellar approach favours gentle extraction and minimal intervention to preserve the character of each site. The result is a range of wines that capture both the wild Mediterranean landscape and the distinctive identity of Corsica's native grapes.
Rosamarinu Rouge is built around Sciaccarellu, the emblematic red variety of southern Corsica, sourced from the granitic hillsides around Tizzano near Sartène. Unlike the more structured and powerful reds of northern Corsica, Sciaccarellu thrives on these decomposed granite soils, producing wines defined by perfume, freshness and finesse rather than weight. The fruit is destemmed and gently extracted to preserve the delicate aromatic profile of the variety, before fermentation and ageing in stainless steel. The cuvée is bottled unfiltered and without added sulphur, allowing the vivid character of the grape and terroir to shine through. Light ruby in colour, it offers aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry, raspberry and rose petal alongside white pepper, garrigue herbs and warm granite dust. The palate is supple and energetic, with fine tannins, bright acidity and a savoury, spicy finish that makes it one of the most compelling introductions to Sciaccarellu and the granite terroirs of Sartène.
