Marjorie and Stéphane Gallet established Roc des Anges in 2001 in the Roussillon, building a domaine around the distinctive schist soils of Montner and the northern slopes of Força Réal. Their vineyards are farmed organically and biodynamically, with a particular emphasis on preserving the character of old Mediterranean varieties. The couple have developed a reputation for wines that combine the natural generosity of the Roussillon with freshness, precision and a strong sense of place.
Segna de Cor is an anagram of Roc des Anges and represents the more immediate, fruit driven side of the domaine. Made from younger vines growing on shallow, ancient schist soils, the blend brings together Grenache Noir, Carignan, Syrah and Cinsault. Fermentation takes place in concrete using indigenous yeasts, with whole berries and whole bunches helping preserve freshness and aromatic definition. Expect vibrant red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, alongside Mediterranean herbs, pepper and a subtle mineral character. Juicy and energetic, with fine tannins and a refreshing finish, this is Roussillon with its sleeves rolled up.
