The Confuron and Cotetidot families have been involved in Burgundy viticulture since the seventeenth century. The domaine was established in 1964 through their union and is now based in Vosne Romanée, where brothers Yves and Jean Pierre Confuron oversee around 11 hectares across the Côte de Nuits. Their approach is firmly traditional, with organic vineyard practices, low yields and a distinctive commitment to harvesting fully ripe fruit for whole bunch fermentation. The resulting wines are typically concentrated and structured, built for extended ageing rather than immediate approachability.
Nuits Saint Georges is known for its muscular, earthy Pinot Noir, and this bottling reflects that character. Dark cherry and blackcurrant sit alongside notes of leather, forest floor and spice, with firm tannins and a savoury finish. Whole bunch fermentation adds further structure and aromatic complexity, while extended ageing in French oak allows the wine to develop depth without overwhelming the fruit. A robust, traditional expression of the appellation.
