The Confuron and Cotetidot families have deep roots in Burgundy, with viticultural histories stretching back to the seventeenth century. The domaine was established in 1964 through their union and is now based in Vosne Romanée, where the family farms around 11 hectares across some of the Côte de Nuits' most celebrated appellations. Their approach is deliberately traditional, favouring organic vineyard practices, low yields and relatively long élevage. In the cellar, whole bunch fermentation and extended maceration help build the structure and distinctive savoury character of their Pinot Noir.
Gevrey Chambertin is known for producing some of Burgundy's most structured Pinot Noir, and this village bottling is a classic expression of the appellation. Sourced primarily from Champs Chenys and Creux Brouillard, the wine combines dark cherry and wild berry fruit with notes of forest floor, game and spice. Whole bunch fermentation brings an additional layer of savoury complexity, while firm, fine grained tannins and fresh acidity provide structure. A substantial, earthy Burgundy with plenty of character and the capacity to develop with time.
