Château La Grave Figeac lies on the Pomerol border of Saint-Émilion, a six-and-a-half-hectare estate run by Caroline and Victor Clauzel. The vineyard sits on gravel and sandy soils with veins of ironstone and clay, surrounded by Cheval Blanc and Figeac. Certified organic since 2012, the domaine focuses on precise vineyard work and gentle extractions in the cellar. Fermentations are spontaneous, and ageing combines new and one-year-old oak with concrete vats to preserve clarity and finesse.
La Grave Figeac 2019 is composed of roughly sixty-five percent Merlot and thirty-five percent Cabernet Franc from forty-year-old vines. The 2019 vintage yielded wines of generous fruit and freshness, and here it translates into deep plum and mulberry tones layered with mineral lift and gentle spice.
