Château Moutte Blanc is a family-owned estate located in the Margaux commune of Macau, Bordeaux. The property spans 3 hectares and was established in 1939. Under the stewardship of winemaker Patrice de Bortoli, renowned for his expertise with Petit Verdot, the estate has gained recognition for producing wines that highlight the unique characteristics of this varietal. The vineyard's soils are a mix of gravel and clay, providing excellent drainage and contributing to the complexity of the wines.
The 2020 Bordeaux Supérieur is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot. The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve fresh fruit aromas. The wine is then aged for 14 months in a combination of new and one-year-old oak barrels, which imparts subtle oak nuances and enhances structure. It offers ripe bramble fruit flavours, a firm tannic backbone, and a touch of pepperiness, reflecting the elegance and precision of the Margaux terroir.
