VINB is a young Sicilian estate founded in 2022 by Biagio Di Stefano and Vittorio D’Angelo, two friends who returned to their native Vittoria after gaining experience with some of the region’s most respected names, including COS and Arianna Occhipinti. Based between the historic contrade of Bastonaca, Ragoleti and Ganzeria, they farm nearly 5 hectares of organically cultivated vines on a mix of red sands, limestone and volcanic-influenced soils.
Inspired by the traditional wines of Vittoria, their approach combines meticulous manual farming with low-intervention winemaking. Grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, gently foot-trodden, fermented with minimal extraction and bottled with only tiny additions of sulphur. Drawing on both the freshness of the Hyblaean Mountains and the warmth of southern Sicily, VINB crafts vibrant, terroir-driven wines that emphasise purity, balance and drinkability. Despite being a very young project, they have quickly established themselves as one of the most exciting new voices in Vittoria.
Biagio and Vittorio connect to their roots with the cuvée D'Altri Tempi ('of other times') – a tribute to their ancestors with this old-school take on Cerasuolo di Vittoria. As opposed to Zappa e Puta, the destemmed nero d'avola and frappato grapes are foot-trodden and fully crushed; they macerate for a short 48hrs – like in the old days – before being pressed into vats to complete fermentation. Aged for 6 to 7 months in fiberglass, the wine is vibrant and fruit-forward with an enticing rusticity.
The nero d'avola brings structure and acidity, while the frappato adds aromatic lift and plump texture – a complementary combination that creates balance and depth in the purest tradition of Vittoria.
