Monte Dall'Ora is the life project of Alessandra and Carlo Venturini, situated in the hills just outside Verona in the heart of Valpolicella Classica. Farming five hectares of ancient terraces by hand and entirely biodynamically, the couple aims to express the soul of their limestone-rich terroir with purity and energy. They champion traditional varieties such as Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta, ferment with native yeasts, and age their wines slowly in large neutral wood. The domaine has become a benchmark for thoughtful, soulful Valpolicella that balances heritage with vitality.
The Stropa Amarone is a selection of very old vines on high-elevation terraces, picked early for freshness and air-dried naturally for around 4 months in wooden crates. The 2015 vintage was generous and dry, with healthy fruit and perfect conditions for appassimento. After fermentation with wild yeasts, the wine was aged in large Slavonian oak botti for nearly 5 years. It is incredibly refined for Amarone, with powerful yet poised flavours of cherry liqueur, forest floor, cocoa and dried herbs. Structured, savoury and long, with a dry, mineral finish.
