The Renner family have been cultivating vines in the village of Gols in Neusiedlersee since 1988. Already back then, parents Helmuth and Birgit put a deep emphasis on organic viticulture. When the new generation was slowly coming to an age to think about careers, their parents never forced them to take over, and so Susanne, Stefanie and Georg pursued alternative careers without ever losing touch with their home and local friends. After some years spent working in fashion and studying water management respectively, Susanne and Stefanie took a chance and returned to their family's winery without formal education. It was by chance that Steffi ended up working harvest with Tom Lubbe of Domaine Matassa as well as Tom Shobbrook, two dear friends and mentors of the family today. They dived straight into a new world of wine that allowed them early on to work by instinct rather than having the burden of keeping a style or collection of the estate alive, breathing new life into the winery.
