Pierrick Bouley was born in 1987 and trained in viticulture and oenology in Beaune before founding his own estate in Monthélie in 2016. Bouley works with 5 hectares across Monthélie, Volnay, and Pommard, focusing on premier cru parcels with distinct soils and microclimates. His philosophy centres on low intervention terroir driven wines that express the unique character of each vineyard. Grapes are hand harvested, fermentations are indigenous yeast led, and wines are aged in carefully selected French oak barrels, with minimal sulphur, no fining, and no filtration. The aim is to highlight both village identity and individual cru expression.

Volnay 2021 comes from several mid slope parcels in Volnay planted on clay limestone soils. This vintage was cooler than average, producing wines with lifted red berry aromatics, fine acidity, and elegant tannins. Grapes were hand harvested, fermented with indigenous yeasts, and aged 12 to 14 months in French oak barrels, producing a refined, aromatic Volnay with silky texture and classic floral notes.
