The first release from Vogelsang, made from old Pinot Noir vines planted around 60 years ago. The naturally low-vigour vines produced a remarkably concentrated 2024 at just 11% alcohol, with no chaptalisation or acidification. Red berries and cherry lead the nose, becoming darker and more savoury with air. The palate is lean and energetic, with vivid acidity, gentle tannins and impressive depth despite its featherweight frame. Slightly reductive and more rugged than Bürgel, yet wonderfully juicy and precise — a beautifully distinctive Pinot that combines lightness, intensity and serious drinkability.

Winemaking Organic farming, hand harvested, 30% whole bunch, crushed by bare foot, and juices macerated in stainless steel tank for 12 days, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, aged in 228L Taransaud barrique of 2-3 years of age, for 15 months. Unfiltred, unfined, minimal sulphur at bottling.
