The Family Vittorio Bera was the first estate to bottle and market its own wine in the Canelli region. The estate lies in Sant’Antonio di Canelli within the region of Serra Masio, the most prestigious and ancient of the area’s Moscato production.
A wonderfully youthful expression of Nebbiolo from the hills of Canelli, where the Bera family planted a new one-hectare vineyard in 2020, bringing the variety back to an area where it was historically grown. The young vines sit on calcareous marl mixed with siliceous sandstone. Fermentation is spontaneous, with around 15 days on the skins, followed by six months on the lees in concrete before bottling unfiltered.
Bright cherry, wild strawberry and raspberry meet rose, violet and gentle spice. The palate is juicy and energetic, with lively acidity, delicate tannins and a subtle savoury edge. Fragrant, fresh and wonderfully drinkable Nebbiolo in a deliberately immediate, youthful style.
