Podere La Palazzetta is a small, traditionally minded estate located in Castelnuovo dell’Abate, on the south eastern flank of Montalcino, an area increasingly recognised for producing Brunello of freshness, structure and longevity. The estate was founded in the 1998s by Alessandro Mori, who chose this zone specifically for its altitude, exposure to cooling air currents from Monte Amiata, and soils rich in galestro and clay. From the outset, Mori committed to organic farming, rejecting chemical inputs in favour of manual vineyard work, low yields and long growing cycles. Vineyards sit at higher elevations than much of Montalcino, which slows ripening and preserves acidity, resulting in a more classical, tension driven expression of Sangiovese. La Palazzetta has always aligned itself with a traditional Brunello philosophy, favouring long macerations, large neutral oak casks and extended ageing over modern extraction or barrique influence, with the Riserva bottling reserved only for vintages and parcels that can sustain prolonged maturation.

The Toscana Rosso IGT 2024 is drawn from younger vines and selected parcels around the estate, offering a more immediate and relaxed expression of Sangiovese. The 2024 vintage produced clean, vibrant fruit, resulting in a wine that is supple and open, with bright red berries, gentle savoury notes and a clear mineral line. It captures the character of the estate in a more approachable, early drinking form.
