Agricola VINB is a small, insurgent natural wine project founded by Riccardo Sinesi in the southeastern Sicilian town of Vittoria. Originally from Tuscany, Riccardo moved south in search of a freer, more expressive way of farming and winemaking, and now cultivates a handful of hectares with minimal intervention and maximum character. Working without chemicals in the vineyard and with no additives in the cellar, VINB’s wines are raw, joyful and grounded in the energy of Sicily’s southern terroir. The project’s name, “VINB,” is both a play on vino biologico and an assertion of identity: wine that is alive, unapologetic and true.
T.V.B. stands for “ti voglio bene,” a Sicilian sign-off meaning “I care for you” that captures the affection behind this juicy, sun-slicked Nero d’Avola. The 2023 vintage was warm and dry, but well-timed spring rains helped keep vines hydrated, yielding fruit with ripeness and balance. Destemmed and fermented in open vats, the wine was then aged in fibreglass and bottled unfiltered with no sulphur. It pours a deep purple with aromas of wild plum, black cherry, cracked pepper and dried rosemary. Vibrant and quenching, with a savoury bite and herbal lift, this is Nero d’Avola in its most energetic and drinkable form.
