Domaine Derain is a family‑run estate in the Saint‑Aubin appellation of Burgundy. Founded by Dominique Derain in the early 1990s, the domaine is now overseen by Julien Altaber and Carole Schwab. The estate farms organically and biodynamically, focusing on manual vineyard work, cover cropping, and maintaining biodiversity to encourage healthy vines and expressive fruit. In the cellar the team follows a philosophy of minimal intervention, using indigenous yeasts and careful vinification techniques to produce wines that clearly reflect the Saint‑Aubin terroir.
St Aubin Le Ban Rouge 2022 is made from 100 % Pinot Noir grown on clay and limestone soils in the Le Ban parcel. The grapes are hand harvested and fermented with indigenous yeasts before being aged in older vessels. The wine shows bright red berry and spice aromas with supple tannins, lively acidity, and a mineral thread, reflecting the terroir of Saint‑Aubin.
