Frantz Saumon used to be a forester in both Canada and France for several years. In 2001 he decided to take over a small three hectare property in Montlouis near Tours. The winery is an underground cellar carved into the tuffeau, the ubiquitous fossil-rick clay of the region.
The wine is light golden in colour. Aromas of citrus fruit and a hint of pineapple. On the palate it is zesty and pleasantly tart with great acidity and notes of gooseberry and grapefruit. The finish is fresh and intense.
