Maison de Montille is the négociant and white wine focused project of Étienne de Montille and Alix de Montille, based in Volnay and working in parallel to Domaine de Montille. It was created to extend access to carefully selected vineyard sources across the Côte de Beaune and wider Burgundy, while maintaining the same principles of organic farming, low intervention winemaking and precise, site led expression. The focus is on Chardonnay from growers who share a similar philosophy, with élevage and vinification designed to highlight tension, purity and mineral definition rather than overt richness or oak influence.

Rully sits in the northern Côte Chalonnaise, where limestone and marl soils combined with cooler conditions produce Chardonnay that tends to be linear, fresh and quietly structured rather than overtly rich. The Maison de Montille cuvée is sourced from selected parcels that emphasise clarity of fruit and natural acidity, reflecting a more restrained expression of the appellation. Vinification is carried out with native yeasts and a gentle approach to pressing, followed by élevage in French oak barrels with limited new wood to preserve precision. The wine shows lemon zest, green apple and pear, with white floral lift, almond and a subtle chalky, saline edge. The palate is clean and focused, with a fine mineral line and a long, fresh finish that leans on tension rather than weight.
