Il Paradiso di Manfredi sits on the north northeast facing slopes of the Montalcino hill in Tuscany, where a small terraced vineyard of around 2.5 to 3.5 hectares produces Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino from pure Sangiovese Grosso. The estate traces its modern history to 1958, when Manfredi Martini and his wife Fortunata purchased the property and replanted vineyards after a severe winter frost destroyed the original olive groves. Martini was a founding member of the Consorzio del Brunello di Montalcino in 1967, playing an important role in establishing the region’s reputation for age worthy Sangiovese. Today the domaine is run by Florio Guerrini and his family, who farm organically with biodynamic principles on fossil rich galestro soils at 300 to 350 metres above sea level, working entirely by hand and following a classical, low intervention approach in the cellar.

Rosso di Montalcino is made from the estate’s younger vines and parcels just outside the Brunello designation, vinified to express freshness and clarity rather than power. The vintage was marked by a warm growing season tempered by cooler nights on the northern slopes, preserving acidity and aromatic precision. Fermentation takes place with native yeasts in cement, followed by ageing in large neutral oak botti that allow the wine to settle without imprinting wood character. The result is a finely etched expression of Sangiovese, with red cherry, wild strawberry and dried herbs, framed by gentle tannins and a mineral, savoury finish that clearly reflects its Montalcino origins.
