From just 0.31ha in the south-facing Kriegsheimer Rosengarten, this Spätburgunder comes from vines planted in 2001 on warm, gravelly soils rich in iron. The 2024 was fermented with 30% whole bunches and aged for 15 months in barrique. More generous and fruit-driven than WongAmat’s Bürgel, it shows ripe cherry and dark berries alongside spice and a subtle savoury, meaty edge. Fine tannins and a pronounced saline freshness keep everything poised and energetic. A beautifully balanced Pinot Noir, combining the warmth of the site with remarkable finesse and drinkability.

Winemaking Organic farming, hand harvested, 30% whole bunch, crushed by bare foot, and juices macerated in stainless steel tank for 12 days, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, aged in Barrique (66% new - Taransaud) for 15 months; 4 months in bottle prior to release. Unfiltred, unfined, minimal sulphur at bottling.
