A classic Rioja Reserva from Remelluri, the historic estate in Labastida, at the foot of the Sierra de Toloño in Rioja Alavesa. Predominantly Tempranillo, with Garnacha, Graciano and small proportions of other traditional varieties, the grapes come from organically farmed vineyards on limestone-rich soils. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, followed by extended ageing in oak barrels and larger wooden vessels.
Ripe black cherry, plum and blackberry meet dried herbs, tobacco, cedar and gentle spice. The palate is concentrated yet balanced, with fine, integrated tannins, fresh acidity and a persistent mineral character. The 2017 vintage combines the richness of a warm growing season with the freshness of Remelluri's elevated vineyards, offering depth, complexity and excellent ageing potential.
