Antoine Sunier comes from one of Beaujolais’ most influential winemaking families, alongside his brother Julien and sister Sophie of Domaine de la Cras. After studying viticulture and gaining experience in Burgundy, Antoine established his own domaine in 2014 in the village of Avenas, focusing on old vine Gamay from granite rich crus. His work is rooted in organic farming, very low yields, and meticulous hand work in the vines. In the cellar his style is precise and restrained, favouring infusion over extraction, minimal sulphur, and élevage that preserves freshness and site identity. Antoine’s wines are recognised for their purity, tension, and quietly serious expression of cru Beaujolais, standing apart from more overtly fruity styles.
Régnié is the youngest Beaujolais cru, known for its pink granite soils and naturally aromatic, supple wines. The 2023 vintage was warm and generous but retained freshness thanks to early picking and careful vinification. Fruit comes from old vines on sandy granite slopes, giving lift, fine tannins, and a distinctly floral profile. The wine shows Régnié’s signature charm while maintaining structure and mineral clarity.
