Anne & Jean François Ganevat have become some of the most influential names in natural wine, producing a remarkable range of Jura wines alongside a collection of Vin de France cuvées made from carefully selected grapes outside the region. Based in Rotalier, Jean François Ganevat’s approach is rooted in biodynamic farming, old vine material and minimal intervention, with the aim of allowing each variety and terroir to express itself as naturally as possible. These négociant wines reflect the same philosophy as the estate bottles: purity, energy and a complete respect for the fruit.

Poulprix Rouge is a pure expression of Gamay, sourced from organically farmed vineyards in Beaujolais and vinified in Ganevat’s distinctive style. Despite carrying the broader Vin de France classification, the wine captures the freshness and character of classic Gamay, with an emphasis on perfume, texture and drinkability rather than extraction or structure. The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, using whole bunches and gentle carbonic maceration before ageing in old oak. Bottled without fining, filtration or added sulphur, the wine bursts with aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, red cherry and violet, alongside subtle pepper, herbs and earthy notes. Light on its feet but full of character, the palate is vibrant and silky, with juicy fruit, fine tannins and a refreshing mineral finish.
