Mark Haisma is an Australian born winemaker who established his domaine in Burgundy after extensive experience in both the Rhône Valley and Beaune, building a reputation for a hands on, intuitive approach to Pinot Noir. Based in Gevrey Chambertin, he operates primarily as a micro négociant, sourcing fruit from carefully selected growers across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. His wines tend to prioritise energy, texture and drinkability, with a light touch in the cellar, often favouring whole bunch fermentation where appropriate, wild fermentations and élevage that preserves fruit purity and site character rather than heavy structural imprint. The style is modern and expressive while still anchored in clear appellation identity.

Les Pins is a Pernand Vergelesses site positioned on limestone rich slopes at the edge of the Corton hill, where cooler conditions and stony soils bring both freshness and a firmer mineral backbone. The vineyard typically produces Pinot Noir with a slightly more linear, structured profile than neighbouring villages, balanced by bright red fruit and lifted aromatics. In this cuvée, Haisma uses a proportion of whole bunch fermentation to enhance perfume and structural definition, while keeping extraction gentle to preserve clarity and finesse. Elevage in barrel is restrained, supporting texture without obscuring site character. The wine shows red cherry, cranberry and wild raspberry, with floral notes of violet and rose, subtle spice and a fine chalky minerality. The palate is precise and energetic, with fine tannins and a long, saline finish shaped by limestone tension and cooler site expression.
