Just a heads up – on rare occasions, our bottle images on the site may not reflect the exact label or vintage you were hoping for. If there is a particular vintage you are after please let us know and we will do our best to source it for you. In the meantime, we will ensure we are keeping up to date on each vintage and the corresponding image as best we can.
Sepp and Maria Muster took over their 10 hectare estate in Schlossberg near the small town of Leutschach in Styria (called Steiermark) from their parents Theresa and Rudolf Muster. The oldest document records of the estate date back to 1727 whereas the layout plans of the vineyards date back to 1787. We are in rolling countryside, plenty of forest, right on the border of Slovenia.
The Opok is a blend of Muster's four white grapes. Opok refers to the particularities of the soil in this part of Styria which is compact and marly. This wine is not so much aromatic as mineral with sea-shell purity. It fills the mouth whilst retaining a stoniness and just a hint of reductive smokiness.
