The Confuron and Cotetidot families have deep roots in Burgundy, with viticultural histories stretching back to the seventeenth century. The domaine was established in 1964 through their union and is now based in Vosne Romanée, where the family farms around 11 hectares across the Côte de Nuits. Led by Yves Confuron, the estate follows a traditional approach, favouring organic vineyard practices, low yields and whole bunch fermentation. The resulting wines are characteristically concentrated and structured, with a firm backbone that rewards time in bottle.
Vignerondes is a Premier Cru vineyard in the southern part of Nuits Saint Georges, where clay and Comblanchien limestone contribute both depth and mineral tension. This is a powerful but finely detailed Pinot Noir, combining black cherry and wild strawberry with violet, spice and earthy undertones. Whole bunch fermentation adds aromatic complexity and a distinctive savoury edge, while extended ageing in French oak builds structure around the fruit. Firm tannins and fresh acidity give the wine considerable presence, with the balance and concentration to develop over the coming years.
