Moscato d’Asti Lumine, Ca’ d’ Gal 2021
Ca d Gal
Hidden in the hills just outside the sleepy town of Neive, south of Asti itself, in the Piemonte region of northern Italy, is Ca'D' Gal, home to Sandro Boido's 6.5ha winery and some of the region's most sublime Moscato d'Asti. The vines are located on steep slopes and on variable soils of limestone-clay and sand and everything is done with an organic approach in mind. In contrast to so many other mass-produced Moscato wines, Ca'D'Gal Moscato d'Asti is truly artisanal, harvested by hand and vinified naturally in a closed vat with extended lees contact. This added attention is what gives these delightful wines their unique personality-and surprising ability to age. "Lumine," the estate's regular Moscato, is from 30-35 year old vines and contains only 5% alcohol. Drink either as an aperitif or dessert wine.
Aromas of acacia, sage and rosemary with hints of peach, apricot and green apple. The palate is fresh with flavours of peach and apricot.
