Elian da Ros is a pioneering producer in the Côtes du Marmandais of the South‑West of France, one of the region’s most respected natural wine estates. Based in Cocumont on the left bank of the Garonne, the domaine has been certified organic since 2000 and biodynamic since 2002, with around 19 hectares under cultivation. After training in viticulture and oenology and working in Alsace, Elian returned home to champion regional varieties and minimal‑intervention winemaking, helping elevate Marmandais on the national wine map.
Marmandais Abouriou 2021 is a focused expression of the local Abouriou grape, the traditional variety of this appellation, here complemented with around 10 % Merlot. The wine is vinified with a semi‑carbonic maceration on whole clusters and fermented with indigenous yeasts before ageing for roughly 12 months in a mix of tuns and barrels of several wines. It offers a vibrant profile of red and spice‑tinged fruit with supple tannins and lively energy that reflects both its varietal character and unique regional identity.
