Hugues Godmé is an independent grower‑producer in the Champagne region based in Verzenay in the Montagne de Reims. The estate dates back generations and is run today by Hugues with involvement from his daughter Lucille, farming about eight hectares of vines across Grand Cru and Premier Cru villages including Verzenay, Verzy, Villers‑Marmery and Villedommange. The vineyards are farmed organically and biodynamically, with ploughing, cover cropping and careful soil management to encourage deep rooted vines and expressive fruit. In the cellar the team uses indigenous yeasts fermentation, manual harvesting and minimal intervention to produce champagnes that reflect the terroir of each parcel with precision and clarity.

Les Alouettes 1er Cru Saint Bets 2012 from Hugues Godmé is a vintage blanc de blancs made from 100 % Chardonnay grown on a small parcel in the Les Alouettes Saint‑Bets lieu‑dit near Villers‑Marmery in the Montagne de Reims. The grapes are hand harvested and fermented with native yeasts, and the base wine sees extended ageing on lees for many years before disgorgement with little or no dosage, creating a pure and focused expression of the chalky Premier Cru terroir. This wine typically shows bright citrus and orchard fruit aromatics with subtle brioche and mineral complexity, fine, persistent mousse and a long, elegant finish.
