Clos Lapeyre is a family estate in the Jurançon appellation of South‑West France, cultivated by Jean‑Bernard Larrieu and his father Marcel. The domaine has been certified organic since around 2005 and adopted biodynamic practices in the early 2010s. Vineyards are located on steep, south‑facing slopes near the Pyrenees and are planted with native varieties including Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng and Courbu. The estate produces wines that showcase the region’s distinctive terroir with minimal intervention, from dry to sweet expressions.
The 2021 Jurançon Sec Vitatge Vielh is a dry white composed of approximately 60 % Gros Manseng, 30 % Petit Manseng and 10 % Courbu from old-vine parcels. Fermentation and ageing occur in large, previously used oak barrels (demi‑muids) and vats, without fining or filtration. The wine shows vibrant citrus and stone fruit notes, fresh acidity and a structured, focused palate, reflecting both the varietal character and the unique mountain‑influenced terroir.
