Clos Lapeyre is an organic and biodynamic estate in the Jurançon appellation of South‑West France, managed by Jean‑Bernard Larrieu and his family. The domaine’s vineyards lie on steep, south‑facing slopes near the Pyrenees and have been certified organic since 2005, with biodynamic methods implemented from the early 2010s. Clos Lapeyre works with traditional local varieties of the region, and its wines express the distinctive terroir and climatic interplay of Atlantic influence and mountain exposure.

Mantoulan 2018 is a dry white wine from the Mantoulan lieu‑dit, an old and esteemed plot west of the main estate. The blend comprises Petit Manseng (about 70 %), Courbu (15 %) and Camaralet (15 %), all hand harvested. After a slow pressing, the slightly settled juices ferment in large oak tuns over several years and are then aged on lees, with bâtonnage before tank maturation. The wine shows a fuller body with herbal and floral character, mineral notes and refreshing acidity, reflecting both the variety mix and the slow, gentle approach in barrel.
