Pierre & Marianne Duroché is the négociant arm of Domaine Duroché, created to complement the estate wines with a small range of carefully sourced cuvées from across Burgundy. Led by Pierre Duroché, the project follows the same philosophy as the domaine, prioritising precise vineyard selection, thoughtful farming partnerships and a restrained, detail focused approach in the cellar. Fruit is sourced from trusted growers working with similar standards in the vineyard, allowing the wines to maintain a clear sense of place while offering a broader regional perspective beyond the domaine’s own holdings. The style remains consistent, with an emphasis on purity, balance and integration rather than extraction or overt oak influence.
This Gevrey Chambertin is a village level expression sourced from selected parcels within the appellation, offering a classic but accessible profile of Pinot Noir from the northern Côte de Nuits. The vineyards are typically situated on a mix of limestone and clay soils, contributing both structure and fruit generosity. In line with the house style, vinification is carried out with careful control, focusing on gentle extraction to preserve clarity and finesse. Elevage takes place in French oak barrels with a restrained and well integrated use of new oak, ensuring the wine remains driven by fruit and site rather than cellar influence. The wine shows red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, with floral lift, subtle spice and a light earthy note. The palate is balanced and finely structured, with fresh acidity, supple tannins and a clean, persistent finish that captures the essence of Gevrey Chambertin in a more immediate and approachable form.
