Domaine Duroché is a family estate based in Gevrey Chambertin, now led by Pierre Duroché, who has steadily established the domaine as one of the most precise and articulate voices in the northern Côte de Nuits. Since taking over from his father Gilles, Pierre has refined both vineyard and cellar work with a clear emphasis on purity, balance and site transparency. The domaine holds a strong range of parcels across Gevrey Chambertin, including several Premier and Grand Cru sites, with viticulture focused on careful vineyard management, low yields and meticulous harvest timing. In the cellar, the approach is defined by control and precision, with measured extraction and élevage designed to integrate seamlessly with the fruit rather than mark the wine.

Les Jeunes Rois is a village level lieu dit in Gevrey Chambertin, typically situated on deeper clay rich soils compared to the thinner limestone of the Premier Crus, giving a slightly broader and more immediately open expression of Pinot Noir. The site tends to produce wines with more generosity through the mid palate, while still retaining the structural backbone and mineral thread characteristic of Gevrey. In Duroché’s hands, the wine is vinified with a parcel specific approach, with carefully controlled extraction to preserve clarity and balance. Elevage takes place in French oak barrels with a restrained and well integrated use of new oak, allowing the fruit to remain at the forefront. The wine shows red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, with subtle spice, floral lift and a light earthy nuance. The palate is supple but structured, with fine tannins, fresh acidity and a composed, persistent finish that reflects both the accessibility of the site and the domaine’s precision driven style.
