Gelber Muskateller, Weingut Sepp Muster 2020
Sepp and Maria Muster took over their 10 hectare estate in Schlossberg near the small town of Leutschach in Styria (called Steiermark) from their parents Theresa and Rudolf Muster. The oldest document records of the estate date back to 1727 whereas the layout plans of the vineyards date back to 1787. We are in rolling countryside, plenty of forest, right on the border of Slovenia.
Plenty of aromatic elderflower, alongside more subdued tropical fruits, in what feels like one of the most drinkable riffs we’ve had on this grape in a long time. A fresh, lively and very energetic white wine that, as the producers say, lies between the sky and the earth.
