Domaine Jeandaugé is a small, independently run estate based in south west France, working at the intersection of Gascony and the wider Pyrenean foothills. The domaine is focused on preserving old vine plantings across scattered family parcels, many of which are co planted field vineyards that reflect traditional mixed farming systems rather than modern monoculture viticulture. The work is centred on organic principles, with a strong emphasis on manual vineyard management, low yields and harvesting based on phenolic balance. In the cellar, the approach is deliberately low intervention, relying on spontaneous fermentations and gentle handling to retain the natural structure and identity of the fruit.

Franche Lippée Rouge is drawn from old vine parcels rooted in clay limestone soils with a mix of gravelly and sandy influences depending on the site, typical of the transitional terroirs between Gascony and the Pyrenean slopes. The vineyards are composed of traditional south west French varieties, primarily Tannat, Fer Servadou and Cabernet Franc alongside smaller proportions of local Gascon heritage grapes, all co planted within the same parcels. Fruit is hand harvested and carefully sorted before spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in concrete and neutral vessels. Extraction is managed through gentle infusion to preserve aromatic clarity and avoid hard tannin structure. Elevage is short and reductive, designed to maintain brightness and drinkability. The wine shows dark and red berry fruit, crushed blackberry and plum skin tones, subtle peppered herbal notes, a faint earthy savoury edge and a supple, fluid texture with fine grained tannins and a lifted, slightly saline finish.
