Faugeres Les Léonides, Domaine du Météore 2017
Ten thousand years ago a meteorite struck a hillside in Southern France. The vines of Domaine du Météore grow within, and around, the huge, 80-metres-deep-and 200-metres- in -diameter, crater that it left and it is for this reason that this estate is called “Domaine du Météore”. The range of wines from this estate all bear names linked to meteors or other celestial phenomena.
Bright ruby in colour, the nose evokes flowers of fruits such as blackcurrant and clementine, all enhanced by the fragrance of wild thyme flower and a hint of balsamic. On the palate, one finds a fresh, juicy and well-balanced wine with soft tannins and dominant fruit notes in the finish.

The wines were recommended superbly in a professional and patient manner. The delivery was fast with no issues. And the wine, when it arrived went down a treat, some truly exceptional wines available on this website. Overall very impressive. I’ll be back for more - probably sooner than expected :/
