Bodegas Galmés i Ribot is a family estate based in Mallorca with viticultural roots dating back to the early 18th century, making it one of the island’s historic producers. The modern project is led by the Galmés Ribot family with a clear focus on native grape varieties and the recovery of traditional Mallorcan viticulture. Vineyards are farmed organically, with an emphasis on local biodiversity and adapting to the island’s Mediterranean climate. In the cellar, the approach is low intervention, working with spontaneous fermentations, minimal sulphur and a strong commitment to expressing both grape variety and place with clarity and energy.

Escursac is a rare indigenous Mallorcan variety that has been gradually recovered and reintroduced by a handful of producers, valued for its naturally low alcohol, high acidity and distinctive aromatic profile. Grown on limestone and clay soils, it produces a lighter, more lifted style of red wine with a focus on freshness and precision rather than weight. At Galmés i Ribot, the fruit is handled with a gentle approach, using partial whole bunch fermentation to enhance aromatic lift and structure, followed by élevage in neutral vessels to preserve purity. The wine shows bright red cherry, cranberry and pomegranate, alongside herbal notes, wild flowers and a subtle earthy edge. The palate is light bodied and vibrant, with fine tannins and a fresh, saline finish that reflects both the grape’s natural energy and its Mediterranean origin.
