Nicholas Altare started making wine with Ferdinando Principiano (Barolo). A young man with deep roots and plenty of experience, in 2016 he decided to bottle, for the first time, a portion of the grapes produced from his family 2.5-hectare vineyard. In 2017, construction of the cellar was completed, where today, in addition to Dolcetto, he also produces Nebbiolo and Barbera. The company's land extends for approximately two hectares in the San Luigi area, in the heart of the Dogliani area, where Dolcetto finds its deepest and most complete expression, thanks also to the presence of clay-limestone marl.
An intense cherry-red in the glass. On the nose, notes of violets and cherries with a hint of earth. On the palate, fresh and clean with a slightly spicy edge. Look out for flavours of almonds and liquorice. The tannins are balanced and the finish lingering.
