This is a young project with modest beginnings. In 2008, Beatriz Herranz planted five hectares of Verdejo on family land in La Seca. Two years later, she produced just 300 bottles with friends in Gredos, gradually increasing production before establishing her own space in La Seca in 2013. Since then, she has acquired old-vine plots in nearby villages to craft distinct cuvées of Verdejo, Viura and Palomino.
Working organically on limestone-based soils in a benign climate, Beatriz has devoted herself to understanding Verdejo in depth. Her wines range from fresh, fruit-driven styles to single-vineyard expressions aged on lees in oak, always seeking authenticity and, as she puts it, “swimming against the current.
This vibrant Verdejo is bursting with citrus zest, bitter melon and minerals. Beatriz has gone to an organic winegrower in cooler Segovia to source the perfect grapes for this cuvee.
