Domaine Catherine and Pierre Breton is a highly regarded estate in the Loire Valley with parcels in Vouvray, Chinon and Bourgueil. Catherine and Pierre farm their vineyards organically and biodynamically, tending old vines planted on limestone, clay and gravel soils. They work with a deep respect for the environment and living soil, using cover crops, compost and herbal preparations, and harvest entirely by hand. In the cellar, they rely on indigenous yeasts, minimal intervention and careful ageing in older vessels to allow the purity of fruit and subtle nuances of the terroir to emerge in every vintage. Their wines are celebrated for their clarity, energy and strong sense of place.
Chinon Les Beaux Monts 2024 is a red wine made from 100 % Cabernet Franc grown on clay and limestone soils in the Beaux Monts lieu dit within the Chinon appellation. The grapes are hand harvested and fermented with indigenous yeasts before ageing on fine lees in older vessels until bottling without fining or filtration. The wine shows bright red berry and floral aromatics with subtle pepper and herb notes, a supple palate, balanced acidity and fine tannins that reflect both the variety and the cool Loire climate, delivering an elegant and approachable style.
