Domaine Thillardon is a family estate in the Chénas cru of Beaujolais established by Paul‑Henri Thillardon and joined later by other family members. The domaine farms vineyards organically and biodynamically across parcels in Chénas as well as Moulin a Vent, working soils of clay, manganese and granite with a focus on sustainable practices, manual harvesting and biodiversity. In the cellar they adopt low intervention winemaking with indigenous yeasts and traditional techniques that express the purity of Gamay and the character of each site.
Chénas Blemonts 2022 is a red wine made from 100 % Gamay grown on clay and manganese soils in the Les Blemonts parcel. The grapes are hand harvested and undergo a period of semi carbonic maceration and fermentation, typically with indigenous yeasts, before ageing for around eight months in a combination of older barrels and concrete tanks. The wine shows ripe red fruit and spice aromatics with a smooth texture, soft tannins and a mineral thread that reflects the terroir of Chénas.
