A family owned grower Champagne estate based in Ludes, in the Montagne de Reims. Founded in the 1840s and now led by Raphaël and Vincent Bérêche, the domaine has become one of Champagne’s most influential addresses for terroir driven, low intervention winemaking. The family farms around thirteen hectares spread across premier cru villages in the Montagne de Reims and the Vallée de la Marne, with holdings in Ludes, Ormes and Mareuil le Port, alongside parcels in the Côte des Blancs. Vineyards are worked with a strong focus on soil health, ploughing and sustainable viticulture, with increasing movement towards organic practices. In the cellar, the Bérêche brothers are known for a hands on, precise approach that includes parcel by parcel vinification, long lees ageing, careful oak integration and low dosage, all aimed at preserving vineyard identity and textural depth. Their wines are widely regarded as benchmark expressions of modern grower Champagne, combining tension, energy and real gastronomic intensity.
Vines planted by the grandfather on either side of the Cran de Ludes, on a high, intensely chalky hillside site. The Pinot Noir faces east, from the lower part of the 0.55 hectare parcel located within the territory of Mailly Champagne. These Pinots give the Champagne its structure, with a fine blood orange threaded profile that recalls the identity of Mailly, though with greater precision and freshness. The Chardonnays, planted slightly higher on the slope, benefit from afternoon sun, ensuring slow and complete ripening.
A Champagne built for long ageing, with the first vintage produced in 2004. It consistently carries the signature of a high altitude terroir with strong character.
