The Vincey family has been winemakers for eight generations, but it wasn't until Quentin joined in 2009 that production evolved into its current form. They manage 7 hectares in Oger, Mesnil, and Chouilly, and since Quentin's arrival, have eliminated the use of pesticides and herbicides. They have been adhering to biodynamic principles for over three years. An exceptional winemaker, Quentin creates wines with a wonderful fullness of fruit and layered complexity. Truly worth exploring, as their wines are poised to become legendary.
Le Grand Jardin 2021 comes from a historic enclosed parcel in the centre of Oger, planted to Chardonnay on deep Campanian chalk with a high proportion of fine limestone fragments. Sheltered and slightly warmer than surrounding sites, the vineyard typically delivers more breadth and mid palate weight while retaining saline tension. The cool 2021 season sharpened the wine’s natural precision, resulting in notes of ripe citrus, pear skin and chalk dust, carried by fine mousse, layered texture and a long, mineral finish that reflects both exposure and soil.
