The Vincey family has been winemakers for eight generations, but it wasn't until Quentin joined in 2009 that production evolved into its current form. They manage 7 hectares in Oger, Mesnil, and Chouilly, and since Quentin's arrival, have eliminated the use of pesticides and herbicides. They have been adhering to biodynamic principles for over three years. An exceptional winemaker, Quentin creates wines with a wonderful fullness of fruit and layered complexity. Truly worth exploring, as their wines are poised to become legendary.
Coin Gris 2021 comes from a cooler, more exposed parcel on the upper slopes of Oger, planted to Chardonnay on very pure chalk with minimal topsoil. The site is known for producing wines of marked linearity and tension rather than breadth. In the cool 2021 vintage, this translated into a sharply defined profile of lemon zest, green apple and crushed chalk, with a fine, persistent mousse and a long, saline finish shaped by elevation and exposure.
