Robert Moncuit is a historic grower Champagne estate based in Le Mesnil sur Oger, one of the Côte des Blancs’ most revered Grand Cru villages for Chardonnay. The domaine has been family owned for generations and today is led by Pierre Amillet, whose work has further refined the house style toward purity, precision and site transparency. Holdings are centred around old vine Chardonnay parcels in Le Mesnil sur Oger alongside smaller plots in neighbouring Grand Cru villages, all planted on the region’s famous chalk soils that give the wines their distinctive tension and mineral drive. Viticulture is thoughtful and restrained, with careful vineyard work aimed at preserving the identity of each site, while cellar work remains deliberately non intrusive, favouring long lees ageing and measured élevage to allow the terroir to speak clearly. Robert Moncuit has become particularly admired amongst grower Champagne collectors for producing wines that capture the chiselled, saline character of Le Mesnil without sacrificing generosity or drinkability.

Champagne Les Chétillons Grand Cru is sourced from one of the most celebrated lieux dits in Le Mesnil sur Oger, a site prized for producing Chardonnay of exceptional tension, longevity and mineral precision. The vineyard sits on pure chalk soils that naturally emphasise acidity and saline drive, giving the wine a more focused and architectural profile than broader Côte des Blancs expressions. The 2016 vintage brought strong concentration balanced by freshness and energy, producing wines with both immediate clarity and long ageing potential. Vinification is deliberately restrained, allowing the character of the vineyard to remain central, while extended lees ageing contributes depth and texture without diminishing the wine’s linear structure. The wine shows lemon zest, green apple and white peach, layered with white flowers, toasted almond and an intensely chalky mineral backbone. The palate is taut and deeply focused, with fine mousse, vibrant acidity and a remarkably long saline finish that captures the precision and quiet power that define great Le Mesnil Chardonnay.
