The Vincey family has been winemakers for eight generations, but it wasn't until Quentin joined in 2009 that production evolved into its current form. They manage 7 hectares in Oger, Mesnil, and Chouilly, and since Quentin's arrival, have eliminated the use of pesticides and herbicides. They have been adhering to biodynamic principles for over three years. An exceptional winemaker, Quentin creates wines with a wonderful fullness of fruit and layered complexity. Truly worth exploring, as their wines are poised to become legendary.
Interlude n4 2022 is based on a single parcel in Chouilly planted to Chardonnay on chalky, limestone rich soils. For this tirage au moût cuvée, secondary fermentation was carried out with frozen grape must from the same vintage rather than sugar, allowing a seamless integration of dosage and precise expression of site. The 2022 vintage produced bright, linear fruit with high natural acidity. The wine shows lemon zest, green apple, white flowers and crushed chalk, with fine, persistent mousse and a long, saline, site driven finish.
